Well, should I ask how the ice is in HH? Could we be getting to the cottage earlier this year? Any open parts?

    • Bernard says:

The ice is still hanging in. Big dog is opening up and the Del channel is open as well. I think this weekend’s rain will finish off the snow.

  2. Shelley says:

Wow, just read the citizen info website…very ‘interesting’ article under “Breaking News”!!! Thanks for the info Bernard.

  3. Steve says:

Thx Bernard. And looks like the ice is starting to melt.

  4. Bernard says:

Hi Steve, I forgot an s, the address is

Does anyone have any info on the trails up there. We’re hoping everything will be good for March Break

  6. Bernard says:

Hi everyone, just thought I’d send this along for your info. It’s election year and we need to get up to speed with what our council has been doing with our tax dollars. You can check out this site “citizeninfo2010.web.com “. It’s a real eyeopener

I understand the grocery store in HH has been sold!! I hope all the wonderful, familiar faces will be returning.

    Hi Ron,
Welcome to HH. We were at the cottage 2 weeks ago with daytime temps of -28C…burrrr. We took the scoot across (to little Beausoleil Is) and did not see any open water at that time. I think people are leery to comment on ice conditions as they can change so rapidly. I would think your best bet is to contact a snowmobiling group for conditions…just remember water currents and weather can change those conditions. Maybe your could book a scoot. We book with Larry Simons. Good Luck and I hope you make it out to your place.

Hi. We’re new cottagers in the Honey Harbour area.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to know when the ice is thick enough for us to walk to our cottage (just beyond the far end of Big Dog Channel.)

Best information I can find is from the snowmobile association, which shows a trail running past Honey Harbour. Apparently it’s open now.

I figured there would be a web-site with regularly-updated ice-thickness measurements. But there doesn’t seem to be.

    Thanks Bev.

Where’s “The Bulletin”, list of Marinas’ & Realtors, History page etc?. Seems to have been wiped out. I certainly wouldnt term it an improvement.

    • Bev says:

The historical photos can be viewed from the photos page. The business directory is being recompiled with accurate information provided by the business owners. They have all been contacted and will be included in the directory if they wish.

  12. Killion says:

Im not liking this new format one bit. Have to search out everything that was once on the old site. What gives?. Why the change?. Bad.

  13. Babs says:

Does anybody know of someone who will come to a cottage and lay carpet. Thanks….

  14. DJ says:

does anyone know if the ice is safe to sled on yet ?? up to the back part of bone ?

  15. Helen says:

Does anyone know if there is someone local (Honey Harbour area) that offers dog sledding?
