Thanks Shelley. The production company that produced the Shield is currently in preproduction of another project covering the Trent Severn corridor. I hope that we will be a part in that show as well. Babs you can get a copy of the DVD at the Library in Honey Harbour.

Watched a show last night on The Shield and it was a history on the Muskoka area. Rise and decline of the resorts and big boats. Very interesting. Some of the history matched the book we have on Honey Harbour. Amazing that the Honey Harbour Boat Works built 3 large wooden ships for WW II so they could hunt for subs. Bernard, it was nice to put a face to the name...you did a great job on the show!!!

John,
I had read in Cottage Life Magazine that bears would go after gasoline. That seems like a very odd thing to want doesn't it. We did see the bear again this week right out in front of our neighbours cottage with lots of people around. Didn't seem bothered by anyone and wandered off after the dogs started barking.

On another note, we had dinner on Saturday night at the Lakeside Grill (at Nautilus Marina). We sat outside and watched the sunset. All nine of us raved about our dinners, the service was great and it was a really fun evening. If you haven't been try it out. Make a reservation so you won't be disappointed.

Shelley, your Lt. Beausoleil Is. bear is a gas sniffer. He utterly destroyed my filled plastic gas can, that was stored in sealed a rubber storage bin. Guess he didn't like the colour of the bin? :)

Does anyone know why the public boat launch in front of the library was blocked on the long weekend? Is there another public launch available to day visitors?

Last week we saw either 2 bears or the same one twice. One swam across charlies Channel and climbed up just before Bass Bay. The other one was in the back yard just under the window. I think I scared it when I ran outside to tell the people who were sitting on the deck because he was heading in that direction, but he went up into the bush toward Bass Bay...
